Joy of Photography (Borrowing that Title from Digital Photography School)

Brookfield Zoo, 2009

So, on Mother’s Day I said I was going to shoot some races the following weekend. Well, that didn’t happen. It was cool (some might say cold), windy and rainy, hardly my description of race weather. I decided to keep the camera inside where it could be warm and dry. What did I do? I got home from work Friday night, parked the car and didn’t get back into it until Monday morning when I had to go BACK to work! Such is the life of THIS man about town. Ha!

Not sure when I will go to races yet. We have some SCCA action at Road America this weekend AND we have qualifying at Indy. You know, if either of those tracks were 2 hours away instead of 3, I just might have gone. Instead, I need to do some wedding stuff and need to start practicing with flash! Oh yeah, I might be getting to do another photo shoot – same people as the ice show! I’m pretty excited but KNOW I need to practice my metering and bounce angle and stuff.

Joy of Photography – I totally stole this title from a post on a GREAT website for the Digital Photography School. They have lot’s of fantastic articles and I have learned a lot from them. This particular post was from this week – they send out a weekly email called “New Photography Tips for this Weekend.” I usually click on a couple of the articles. You should sign up and check out their website – it’s FREE! In fact, this week included a wonderful article called “Joy of Photography Experimentation” (click the title). It’s not very long and is a good read for beginner or any level beyond beginner. I think it could help the “joy” you find in photography grow!

Geez, I need to take the camera out. Later!
